Abstract

There is a need for safer botanical products. The Botanical Safety Consortium (BSC) was formed with experts from various fields, such as natural products chemistry, toxicology, data analysis, and pharmacognosy. This international, cross-sector group of experts is working to establish suitable levels of chemical analyses for botanicals and identify fit-for-purpose in vitro and in silico assays that can be used to evaluate botanical safety. As a part of this effort, botanicals that are data-rich with respect to toxicity or safety information were procured and analyzed. This page hosts the chemical identification, quantification, and other data to support the identity of the botanicals.
